1UP Talks N With Metanet
Metanet, developer of the PC/Mac freeware hit N recently sat down with 1UP to discuss the upcoming DS, PSP, and Xbox Live Arcade ports of the game. While these screenshots make the game look pretty close to done, Metanet is still burning the midnight oil to implement new features. Like, say, sharing user-made maps:
For the XBLA version, Sheppard admits things are a little trickier: "We're still trying to figure out what the best solution is for Xbox. Normally you'd want to run a server; however, the cost of running a server is crazy. It's over $300k, almost more than our entire budget for the XBLA version! Instead we have to get creative, but we're not sure which of the three groundbreaking methods Nick [Waanders, of Slick Entertainment] cooked up will get approved, so we can't say. Rest assured, we will find a way!"
