As you all know, the Xbox 360 has received a less than warm welcome in Japan. Remember the rumors swirling about price cuts on the console just days after release? Remember the pictures of stores full of Xbox 360's and a Japanese man asking for directions to the sushi bar? Remember all that? Well, if any game stands a chance of remedying that and becoming the killer app for the struggling console in Japan is a game entitled Ninety-Nine Nights. Just recently it was scheduled for an April 20th release date. From what I've heard the demo was very fun, and the man behind the game, Mizuguchi, is very excited and proud of his work.
We'll just have to wait and see, but I wouldn't be surprised if this game were a hit in Japan....and "hit" is a very relative term....which means, this game may go platinum in Japan...again, "platinum" is a very relative term. In the end, what it boils down to is that this game will probably sell more than any other 360 title in Japan to date, meaning total sales might reach double digits.
