Final Fantasy creator Hironobu Sakaguchi has been hinting that the next entry in his new Xbox 360 series, Blue Dragon, might be an online title.
"I'm talking with Microsoft right now about continuing the series," he said. "It's not set in stone yet, but there's a possibility we'll be making it an online game."
The first Blue Dragon won't be hitting US shores until later this year — so I wouldn't expect to hear anything concrete about the sequel before 2008. Sakaguchi doesn't specify what he means by "online game," either. Should we be expecting an MMO? Personally, I'd like to see a standard RPG with cooperative online multiplayer — a feature that's been practically non-existent in the genre.
