I never bothered with the original Xbox — but some of the hacks on this list of six uses for an old Xbox from Gamepro make me wish that maybe I had. With a torx screwdriver and a little bravery you can install a giant hard drive and some unlicensed software and use your Xbox to do all kinds of things Microsoft would frown upon — like playing back non-WMV video and playing games without the DVD.
