There's a lot to be underwhelmed about with the new 360 Elite. What exactly does that extra $80 get you, anyway? A black case and some overpriced hard disk space, mostly. Despite the $479 price tag there's still no built-in WiFi and the rest of the internals are the same loud, breakage-prone parts you'll find in the Core and Premium units.
Gamepro addresses these issues and more in this feature: Eight Reasons Why the Xbox 360 Elite Isn't Elite. Honestly, I find the Elite situation puzzling — why did Microsoft decide to take the already flawed two-system approach and muck things up further by forking it into three? And furthermore, what ever happened to price cuts? Adding a "new" more expensive system to the mix only makes the old one seem cheaper.
