Despite being both pricey and packed in mismatched groups the downloadable songs for Guitar Hero II sold on the Xbox Live Marketplace have been downloaded over 650,000 times:

Each downloadable pack contains three individual songs. Individual songs combined have topped the two million mark, making the Guitar Hero II packs some of the most downloaded content on Xbox LIVE Marketplace.

On August 14, 2007, Activision released a new My Chemical Romance video game song pack which included original recordings of the hit songs Teenagers, Famous Last Words, and This is How I Disappear from the band's latest album "The Black Parade." In its first week of release, over 50,000 downloads of the three-song pack were purchased through Xbox LIVE Marketplace.

So much for speaking with your wallets, guys - I guess there's more than enough morons willing to pay crazy prices for so-so content that these downloads won't be getting cheaper anytime in the near future. It'll be interesting to see what the prices are for the full-album downloads in Rock Band. Will there be a price war between EA and Activision or will they both just stick with the gouging?
