GRAW - initial impressions
Filed in archive Xbox 360 on March 11, 2006
This is the first Ghost Recon game I have ever plaed, save a short demo of Island Thunder for the original Xbox.
Initially, I wasn't sure what to expect...I didn't know know whether it was going to be a Rainbow Six style game that favored stealth and tactics or if it was going to be more of a brute force shooter akin to Black.
It turns out, insofar as I have played (only about 45 minutes) that it is more of a tactical shooter - very reminiscent of Republic Commando.
I don't know if I mistakenly skipped a cut scene or something, but I really don't understand why the US is all of a sudden at war with Mexico. I'm sure there is a perfectly good explanation for this, I'm just not sure what it is.
I'm gonna hold off on really commenting on the game until I get further in, but check back later tonight after I have some time to really play it, and I'll post my further impressions.
I'll just wrap this up by saying that overall, it's been good so far. Difficult, but definitely a solid game so far. Be sure to check back later for more.
