1UP reports that the patch waiting for you when you put guitar hero 3 into your 360 yesterday was a last-minute gameplay addition: offline co-op for the quickplay mode.

Kudos to the devs for delivering this patch by launch day...but is this really how things work now? Ship an incomplete game and cross your fingers that you'll have a patch ready by time the release date rolls around? I guess I should just be happy that they aren't charging for the download.
