I while ago, I made a list of what games that I am looking forward to. I couldn't really think of many, I mean I had Black and a couple others on their, but nothing I was wholeheartedly excited about; nothing that I really couldn't wait for….until now.
IGN recently posted an interview they had with the producers behind Lego Star Wars II. I absolutely loved the original Lego Star Wars. Despite the odd combination of two of my favorite things, Eidos took what should have been a licensing nightmare and turned it into the thirteenth best selling game of 2005. Lego Star Wars II is being published by LucasArts
Here is an excerpt from the IGN's interview where they asked David Perkinson if there is anything he would like to add before they close the interview, this is what he said:
"First and foremost, the game will take place in the world of the Original Trilogy. The player will now get the chance to experience all of the legendary moments from Episodes IV-VI and with more than 50 of their favorite characters from those films.
In terms of the game itself, it is very important to the team to retain the "easy to pick up and play" nature of LEGO Star Wars in the sequel. However, we also want to try to increase the challenge a little for more advanced players. With that in mind, LEGO Star Wars II supports an optional game-driven adaptive difficulty feature that responds to your skill level; the better you are at the game, the more difficult the game will make itself!
We are always looking at ways of having funny moments like the disco from the first version included in this game's world, and we promise to have more of those entertaining interludes. We have lots of new types of puzzles and little challenges that the player will have to solve to get through the level they're playing.
We want to make a game that is accessible to gamers of all ages, has features that appeal to all types of players and retains the sense of fun, humor and exploration that the first version delivered so well."
