We all sort of expected that Microsoft would lower prices to combat Sony's PS3 in November...apparently, that's not the case.
Microsoft says that they have no intention of lowering prices anytime in the near future. Here's what Chris Lewis of Microsoft Europe has to say:
"We have no plans to make any price adjustment. The last couple of days have reinforced the fact that we have a great value proposition, giving consumers choice, thanks to the core system. We're not forcing the consumer down a route with HD playback. We certainly don't think it's necessary to make any changes to the current price point."
So, there you have it - Microsoft is not planning on dropping prices any time soon.
I just think it's sort of funny that Microsoft says that ' the last couple of days have reinforced the fact that we have a great value proposition.' I mean, compared to the PS3, you could construe buying a tank as a good value.
