Rainbow Six: Vegas Impressions

Graphics: The first thing you'll notice about this game is that it's awfully gorgeous. They're really doing a lot of cool stuff with the lighting. The animations are particularly good while you see your character from a third person perspective, when you climb up or down a ladder for instance.

Sound: I didn't really notice very much sound. All that's really there is gunfire and the occasional background noise, such as an unsuspecting enemy talking to one of his comrades or something of that sort. It's good though. When the music does kick in, it's particularly powerful.

Gameplay: The gameplay is smooth for the most part, although I did notice a bit of slowdown after throwing a grenade and firing my gun as it exploded. It wasn't horrible though. I did run into a few problems, such as my teammates refusing to help me, or just flat out disappearing - I'm pretty sure these problems are because I was doing something wrong though.

Overall: Most of the time when I try out a demo on the Marketplace, I play through it.....maybe enjoy it.....and then when it's over, I go "hmph, that was ok." It's not the case with Rainbow Six: Vegas, I really want more. While I've never liked games in this genre in the past, this game is remarkably fun. It's just a shame that it's launching more or less the exact same time as Gears of War, cause I've only got $60 in my 360 budget this month
