While retailers like Gamestop and Amazon have been using $200 US as a placeholder price for Rock Band's big bundle for months now, yesterday the official price was announced – $170 US:
Harmonix, MTV and Electronic Arts have kept us in the dark for some time, but the game's release nears – and it's cheaper than we thought, actually. MTV's Stephen Totilo reports Rock Band will cost $169.99 for a package that includes a guitar, microphone, drum kit and a copy of the game.
Along with the news of the price is the official release date for the game: November 23rd. Or as it is affectionately known in the retail world, Black Friday. As much as I appreciate the extra $30, thanks a lot for that one, EA – now it's going to be a nightmare just to pick up my preorder.
