I doubt this is true, but I thought I should stick it out there anyway....

On an Xbox.com forum, somebody popped up and posted the following message:

"i work at bestbuy, Store located in New Jersey. Our Microsoft rep contacted our store, and spoke to my supervisor and told him that if we receive any xbox 360 Premiums, to hold them and cannot sell them until the end of March, she stated that the reason for this was because the xbox 360 premiums would be shipped with 100 gigabyte HDDs, instead of the 20 GIG HDDs avalible now, she also said that the 100 gig HDD premiums would sell for the same price of $400. In bestbuys retail weekly i also read that in the beginning of April bestbuy is doing a promotion from April 2nd until April 15th, this promotion has to do with the media department only, they stated that we will have a huge inventory of xbox 360s. I know that bestbuys inventory and promotion news is 100% offical, but the 100 GIG HDD is not 100% offical, but seems very likely. "

Let me give you a couple reasons why this isn't true.

1-Why would they do this when the system is still selling out everywhere?
2-It would significantly increase their cost of production
3-It would piss off a lot of people
4-The pissed off people would lose a lot of trust in Microsoft.

I could go on for a while, but I'm not going to. I think, and I hope that this is completely false.

Although this is most likely false, I would not put it past Microsoft to do something like this in about 8 months when the PS3 and Revolution will be launching.

Either the increased HDD capacity, or a pricecut.

I also suspect that the Core SKU won't survive until 2007.

I'll keep you posted on this, let's hope for my sake that it isn't true.
