The demo for the latest installment in Sega's Rally series is available now on the Live Marketplace. I'm terrible at racing games but I gave this demo The Old College Try and managed to complete an entire race without having my car flip over, fall off of a cliff, or be smashed to bits. I think that's because all of those things are impossible in this game.

With the help of a friendly computer voice telling me what direction to turn I even managed to hold fourth place for an entire lap. That ended, of course, when the AI opponent behind me got three red shells I decided to see what the buttons beside "gas" did and spun out of control. My terrible playing aside, it is a very pretty game - like the PlayStation 3's Motorstorm but with bluer skies and much less bloom-lighting. There's lots of mud, too. Download it and see.
