For those of you who haven't heard of SiN Episodes before, here's the deal. It's an update of the original 1998 PC shooter, SiN. It is one of the first games to feature episodic content - that is, you play the game in chunks at a time. Think of it sort of like a television show, instead of watching it each week you get to play a new installment every couple months.
I know it's a PC game and this is an Xbox blog, but once I got through the game, I did some serious thinking...and here's what I came up with. I'd like to see some episodic games on the Xbox 360 - it would be done all over Xbox Live, so no need to go to the store and purchase a disc every few months, it would be a pretty hefty download...but Microsoft's servers could handle it. Xbox 360 games are on standard DVDs, and some demos on the Marketplace are 1GB+ in size. Also, since episodic games are shorter (4-8 hours) it won't be a huge file anyway. I'm just guessing but I would say that it would clock in around 4GB.
The only problem with it would be HDD space, the Xbox stock HDD only has 13GB available by default, so add in a couple demos that you already have, or some music you're storing on your 360 and you're pretty starved for space.
Listen, I didn't think this through too carefully, but Xbox Live can work sort of like Steam on the PC.
I've got nothing to back this up, but I wouldn't be surprised to see this happening somehow, someway in the future.

Episodic Gaming could be the future, I think.
