So your system sold about a fifth as many units as the industry leader. That's gotta be a bummer, right? Only in a certain light, says Sony CFO Noboyuki Oneda:
"Sales of the PS3 have risen but we booked losses due to our strategic decision to price it below the (production) cost," said Oneda.
"Actually, because the number of units sold was not as high as we hoped, the loss was better than our original expectation," he said.
That's right - Sony wants to sell less PS3s! It's an ingenious business plan.
