Square's Infinite Undiscovery
Just prior to last week's Tokyo Gaming show Square Enix announced that it would be producing and publishing a new RPG for the Xbox 360 from (Star Ocean/Valkyrie Profile devs) Tri-Ace. IGN reports:
The previously announced Infinite Undiscovery is now being published and produced by Square Enix, Sensui announced. Star Ocean developer Tri-ace is still handling the development, with Microsoft sharing technical expertise.

..."We're developing this game with the key words of Discovery and Impact," he said. "The image is that of 'feeling gameplay' that surrounds the various discoveries you make on the game field. In a world created through AI from the senses of sight, sound and smell, you make a discovery, and an by taking action based on that, you create a result with impact."
I'll need to see more from this game before it really gets me excited but I think it's interesting that we're seeing more and more Japanese RPGs being developed for the 360. With the PS2 slowly fading away the genre will have to settle on a new platform - and since neither the PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360 have sold tremendously well in Japan there's really no telling which system will get the games. But most importantly - is undiscovery even a word? I don't think it is.
