Star Trek travels to Xbox 360

I've always liked Star Wars a little better.

Mad Dock Software and Bethesda Game studios are developing a new game set in the Star Trek universe called Star Trek Legacy. Scheduled for release in September 2006, it will be an action/strategy game. Star Trek fans will probably love this game, as it encompasses all aspects of Star Trek, "including the original show, Enterprise, and all of the Next Generation series including Deep Space Nine and Voyager."

Supposedly, the game revolves around the Iconions, a race that was originally discovered by Captain Picard "in the Next Generation episode, "Contagion." You can command up to four ships in your fleet. As you play through the game, you earn points that can be spent to upgrade your fleet.

The game is set to have eight player multiplayer through Xbox Live. You can play as "Federation, Klingon, Borg, and Romulan vessels. The Senior Director of Interactive Viacom Consumer Products, (quite a title) Harry Lang says that "players will be "blown away" when they see the screens"

I've always liked Star Wars a little better, and most Star Trek games come up a little short, but this seems like it has some potential. We'll just have to wait and see.
