Accessories

Microsoft was reluctant to tell us how many HD DVD drives for the Xbox 360 it has sold worldwide, but it did tell us that in the US it has shifted 155,000 of them. With more than five million 360s sold in North America alone I find it hard to believe that Microsoft hasn't sold more than 150k controllers, though what Microsoft classifies as an "accessory" isn't clarified. But folks, this is the important part: stop buying these things. There's a fifty-fifty chance that at any moment HD-DVD is going to be completely unsupported. You'll be left with the three or four movies you already bought and a very expensive piece of plastic to play them on. Microsoft, on the other hand, will still have your money. I strongly encourage everyone to remain platform-neutral until the media companies sort this mess out.
