I've been watching the Olympics non-stop lately, I think its so funny how these random athletes in these uber obscure sports (i.e. curling, speed skating) become "heroes" for two weeks, every four years. I like watching the Olympics, and I totally recognize these guys are incredible athletes, I enjoy watching them compete, I just think it's sort of funny.

Anyway, I was playing the Torino 2006 game on Xbox last night (I've talked about it before in my January 2006 Wrap Up.) I think it is so upsetting that this game is as bad as it is; I mean, whoever developed it had four years to make a decent game, and they failed miserably. There are so many ways you can make a good Olympics game. I'm going to list a few below.

1- Make it multiplayer online

2- Put more than 6 events in the game.

3- Don't make players hit X, A repeatedly to build up power, why not use quick little mini-games, or something like that.

4- Be ambitious - Torino 2006 sucks because the developers didn't take any chances at all and as a result got a game that has worse gameplay than some Atari 2600 titles

Listen, I'm kind of hungry and I'm going to go make some hamburgers for lunch, but this Torino 2006 game is a total embarrassment and I think that whoever made the game (I don't know and I don't want to find out) should be ashamed of themselves. I've played worse games, but the Olympics is a special event; and these this game totally misses the mark.
