Okay, let me start off by saying…sorry about that image with the 1up watermark on it. It's just suuch a nice image that I had to borrow it. Thanks, 1up. I appreciate it. You can borrow some of my images if you want, it's cool. I like to think we have a symbiotic relationship.
Okay, now that I've given my message to 1up, let me tell you about something that's been bothering me.
So this game Rainbow Six: Vegas is on its way to a couple consoles including the Xbox 360. You may or may not have heard of it; it only got announced within the last few days. If you've seen the cover of EGM you'll notice that the cover is all about Vegas. Anyway, you might also remember that a little while ago Ubisoft Made a big fuss on the Rainbow Six page – remember that timer that counted down 360 hours to March 6th? The countdown to (as Ubisoft put it) a "major" announcement.
Well, it turns out that "major" announcement made by Ubisoft on March 6th was Vegas. Except that it A-wasn't even announced by Ubisoft, and B- it came out on March 3rd.
Okay, so Ubisoft if you're reading…let me give you a couple pointers.
If you put a notice up on your website that says you are making a major announcement on March 6th …. make a major announcement on March 6th. Don't let EGM announce it for you three days early.
Second, and probably more importantly…Rainbow Six Vegas is far from a major announcement. In fact, I don't know anybody who even cares. This is so far from a major announcement I don't even know where to begin.
I mean, am I confused, is this somehow really a major announcement? Is Vegas going to change gaming forever? It might, and that would be major.
Oh, and one last thing. I went to Ubisoft's website today and checked out the 'news' section. Which, one would think has news/updates/announcements… and there was nothing about Vegas at all. Ubisoft, you've made me very angry today.
