Video Game's Best Villains
Filed in archive Games , Quick introduction on March 4, 2010
Every game has got to have a villain. At some point in your journey through a character's story, someone is going to do you wrong. Here are, as we see it, the world's best gaming villains.
3) Dr Robotnik (AKA Dr Eggman) - Sonic the Hedgehog
Never understood why his name was changed. Sonic the Hedgehog, one of the coolest characters in video-game history took offence at his scientific work for some reason which, I am sure, no one remembers, but what matters is that he decided he was worth doing something about

2) Liquid Snake - Metal Gear Solid
IGN's greatest villain of all time, Liquid Snake is the formidable British ex-SAS operative enemy of Solid Snake, the legendary infiltrator and saboteur. The final fight with him in Metal Gear REX (a sort of armoured walking tank thing) which later culminates in a fist fight is probably one the most memorable in gaming history.
1) Ganondorf - The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
I defy any child not to be scared of him. A slave to his own ambition, Ganondorf (or "Ganon" as he would later become known during a chillingly entertaining last-ditch battle in the rubble of his ruined fortress), is taken on by the child Link, who is put to sleep for seven years to allow him to fight when he is ready. The build up, through what is still one of the longest games (available at Nintendo's place for download games, WiiWare) you will ever play, towards your long-awaited and final encounter with him is stunningly tense, and definitely, in our eyes, makes the Gerudo king the best villain in gaming history.
