Xbox Live Arcarde group manager, Greg Canessa had some not-so-nice things to say about Nintendo's Virtual Console. In case you've been living under a tree, or just hate Nintendo, the Virtual Console will be capable of playing old Nintendo games as far back as the NES. The Virtual Console figures to be a major selling point of the Revolution. It is a similar concept as the Xbox Live arcade in the sense that it lets the gamer play nostalgic games. It is not intended to go head to head with Microsoft, but I guess Greg Canessa felt threatened:
"A lot of those Nintendo games, you know, aren't gonna hold up."
Don't get me wrong, I think the Xbox Live Arcade is a great idea, and Microsoft has implemented it very well, but there is absolutely no way you can say that games such as Joust are better than Super Mario Bros. Anyway, We'll be learning some more information about Nintendo's forthcoming console at GDC and it will most likely be playable at E3 2006. We'll see if it holds up or not, but what do you think?
