XBLA Wednesday: Two Sega Classics
Filed in archive XBLA on July 11, 2007
While software pirates everywhere have been using emulation to play videogame ROMs on systems they weren't intended for since the 1990s, it wasn't until recently that Sega discovered they could use the same technology to sell you those same games. And that's what we get on the Live Arcade this week, two no frills ROMs-in-a-box: the Genesis classics sonic the Hedgehog and Golden Axe.
While I would have liked to see a little more effort go into these ports the price is certainly right - just 400 Microsoft Spacebucks ($5 US), a full $3 US less than what you'd pay for the same titles on the Wii's Virtual Console. Or should I say a full $3 less than what I already paid on Virtual Console? Ouch.
